All these new haircut trends -wolf cut, butterfly cut, jelly fish cut- are just scene hair styled wavy instead of teased and straightened, and that’s why elder scene kids, and kids that made fun of scene kids but wanted to be them gravitate towards them. Prove me wrong.
They corporatized the scene cut!

obsessed with the way in JP dialogue, Trina refers to Miquella as “that child” (あの子, also an endearment term to call someone who is your junior), as opposed to Malenia who refers to him as “big brother” (兄さま, ani-sama, a very respectful way to put it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
reminds me of Marika calling Radagon “leal hound”.
even though Marika went about it in an obviously much ruder way, Trina’s “that child” carries the same overbearing connotation. The godly female half that positions themselves as knowing better (and srl, they do) & trying to save their other half from their own folly.
It makes me wonder if somewhere along the way Miquella had grown bitter towards his own other self, who got to grow up, become a Saint and actually be able to save people and taken seriously without having to rely on charming power.
They are such parallel to Marika & Radagon in that I believe he loves her, but he can’t stand not being able to be her equal, always falling short and being talked down to.
Imo that’s why Miquella is close to his dad who shared the same pain, while Trina grew the flower bearing their mother’s name in her garden of purple.

The "you can crash on my couch anytime" to "can I live in your house and be your dog" pipeline is absolutely incredible. Remember when he got flustered at the idea of a sexy rat?
This is a man who calls dancing sinful. I heard him bark this morning.

Even if Trobed isn't romantically canon (and it won't be im 99.9% sure) we can all agree that they've most likely had a conversation between seasons 1-4 where Troy was like "you know, if you were a girl, i would date you" and the only reason i dont include season 5 is because if they had that conversation right before troy left it would be less jokey and more "help me find a reason to stay" and I wouldn't be abls to handle it emotionally. Or physically

maddie's monolgue in i saw the tv glow was incredible, but it's interesting how so many viewers took her statement about burying herself literally. i think, generally, there are two veins of interpretation of this movie, reflecting which reality the viewer favors. you could believe that the tv show is the true "reality" of the movie, or that it's simply a surrealist backdrop to the story of one person's intense repression. in the latter interpretation, maddie's dialogue feels dangerous -- is she actually advocating suicide? or simply speaking in metaphor for the trans experience of coming out?
i felt that this scene tread the line between those two extremes. but more notably, i thought about acts of "suicide" a closeted or repressed lesbian would feel drawn to. the way that maddie describes the burnout guy she paid to bury him, how he didn't even know what he was doing -- to me, it felt like she was implying an act of sexual self-harm, testing her sexuality, "burying herself" in the emotional pain. the catharsis found in suffocating herself, allowing herself to dissociate and fade away, and then coming free with the understanding of who she really is... while i think her monologue can be taken in many ways, this interpretation resonates with me.

Here’s Isanna having a… moment with a bit of fabric:
She approached the robe as if in a trance and reached a hand out in wonder, only to draw it back at the last moment and look to her guide in question. “May I touch it?” she asked, hand still hovering only a few inches away. He gave her a nod, and she smiled her gratitude before looking back at the robe, drawing in a deep, anticipatory breath, and gingerly placing her fingertips against the side of the collar as if she were checking for a pulse. The fabric was somehow still soft and supple, and she let her breath out slowly as she ran her fingers around to the collar’s front, then down over the golden snake heads, across the pointed tip of the extravagantly flared outer collar, and over the shining golden necklaces and accents that crossed the chest, letting them come to rest between the heads of the golden snakes that served as the cloak’s lining, close enough to his heart that she would feel it beating were he here, alive. If she closed her eyes, she could almost feel the warmth of his body beneath her fingers, the gentle heaving of his chest, the soft susurration of his breath. She imagined him in his prime, imagined, too, putting the robe on and feeling it against her skin, becoming one with what was left of him—and when the image of his sweat-slick, soot-smeared and sinewy body appeared unbidden in her mind, the jolt of arousal that followed prompted her to open her eyes with a gasp. She took a cleansing breath, and after caressing the cloak, she let her hand fall to her side and offered her guide a sad smile. “I understand why you love him,” she said softly. “I love him, too, and I never knew him.”

A few people on my dash have been posting pictures taken on their various adventures recently, mostly enviably beautiful forests, meadows or icy river banks, usually gilded with wintry sunshine. So, in return I offer for your vicarious delight: an absolute WALL of fog.
The frost was very pretty though (look how spiky it is!), and also there was enough of it that @cynicalrainbows and I were able to make frost-folk (none of that is snow, just very heavy frost. Admittedly they are also not very big, but still). I'm taking suggestions if you have any ideas for what we should name them?

Messy linework tips ?
Keep the sketch in and just erase the parts you don't like; you don't need to give up the sketch layer for the lineart layer or vice versa, you can keep both. it took me a stupidly long time to realise that
try to avoid "lineart" brushes (aka hard edge tapered brushes with full opacity) i think they're also called "inking" brushes yeah those are for clean, strong lineart and that's not what we're going for
look for more textured brushes instead, brushes that change their opacity with pressure ( aka the harder you press on your tablet, the more opaque the stroke becomes), you can even do the lineart with that very same sketch brush you used. When it comes to messy linework, it's about the quality of lines, not the tidiness
some parts will be messier than others and that's okay! we should give up on that perfectionism and need for control and let some parts be messy
try to think about the angles and shapes your linework creates. This is where style and personal preference come into play: I personally like more sharp, boxy, geometric shapes and figures, but you can also go down the soft, round, organic shape route (like Loish's artstyle for example if you're familiar with her works or,.,, disney idk) OR you can have a nice balance between both organic and geometric lines as it creates a nice effect ( a very good but random example i can offer off the top of my head is ehm Chuuya's hair in the dead apple manga— it has both very sharp buy also curvy "S" lines and it's just so very pleasant to look at you should look it up bshjds ) many or most artists usually use both organic (Circle- round, curvy) and geometric (Square - sharp, angle, precise) shapes in their work with a preference for one or the other. It's a spectrum, if you will
that's all i could think of........ disclaimer take everything with a grain of salt it's just word from the street aka what i do and what works for me if it doesn't work for you and i ruined your life and marriage it's not my fault
also if you meant like,, tips for /fixing/ a messy linework then i severely misinterpreted this ask 😭 nor can i help you my linework is messy too I'm not your guy anon

I think we should portray SG screamer as slightly sick in the head more. Like yes, she’s a good guy, and very kind, but they’re also obsessed with Megatron and has the most unhealthy way of expressing and coping with it.
